Job Role : Quality Assurance Technician
We are a new Chocolate manufacturing site based on the Essex/Suffolk border seeking enthusiastic and reliable QA Technicians to join our recently established QA Lab as part of the ongoing growth of our business.

We offer:
- Base Salary of £26,800 + Shift Allowance of £150 per month (2 shift), rising to £200 per month for 3 shift.
- Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme: 5% Employee pension contributions are matched by 5% Employer pension contribution.
- 20 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 22 days after 2 years’ service, and 25 days after 5 years’ service.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a close-knit team in the Quality Assurance laboratory to screen all incoming raw materials and finished products manufactured on site.
- Ensure legislative food safety requirements and specific customer practices are adhered to.
- Continuously manage HACCP and alignment to BRC and customer requirements.
- Undertake internal audits relating to GMP and finished product requirements.
- Maintain traceability, hygiene, quality, and process records with validation of results, identification of trends, root cause analysis where applicable and instigation of corrective actions.
- Work closely with third party certification bodies for sustainability, religious and ethical obligations.
- Carry out sampling and investigations for microbiological, allergen, nutritional or customer requirements.
- Work with essential service providers such as pest control, hygiene, and workwear providers.
- Assist with new product/process trials.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with colleagues across all Departments and levels of the business.
Qualifications/Experience:
Essential
- Understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) principles and practices and Food Safety requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or patterns
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and audits
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate findings and recommendations
Working Pattern:
- The team is currently working 2 Shifts “Double Days” as production ramps up (14.00 – 22.00; 06.00 – 14.00; Monday – Friday, rotating weekly)
- This role is due to move to 3 shifts in the next 2-3 months (14.00 – 22.00; 06.00 – 14.00; 22.00 – 06.00; Monday – Friday, rotating weekly)
The ideal candidate will be a team player as well as self-motivated who carries out their duties to a high standard with confidence, honesty, and passion. Training for the use of essential specialist equipment will be conducted during the probationary period.
